Volunteer Service Award (VSA)

EVHS PTSA is proud to be certified to grant National Service Honor Awards and Certificates to eligible EVHS students. These awards recognize students for their unpaid acts of service that benefit others, as defined under the program’s guidelines. Eligible volunteer service must be completed within 12 months from August 1 to July 31, and awards are based on the total hours served during that time.

Application window: 15 August 2026 – 15 September 2026

  • To qualify for the Volunteer Service Award (VSA), please ensure that all the following steps are completed.

    1. Become a PTSA member ( need to be a member before Aug 14, 2026 for 2025 awards)

    2. The table below outlines the age and service hour requirements for each award category.

    Age Group Bronze Silver Gold
    Teens (11-15) 50-74 75-99 100+ hours
    Adult (16 – 25) 100-174 175-249 250+ hours

    The age criterion is based on the volunteer’s age for at least 7 months within the
    designated 12-month award period. The cutoff date for a student to be eligible for the Teen group is anyone who is born on or after March 1, 2010.

    Age-based Criteria for Students
    Students born on or after March 1, 2010 are eligible as Teen for 2025 awards since the
    students are in that grade for 7 months or longer

    • Eligible volunteer service does not include:
      – Hours as part of student/school club activities
      – Donating funds
      – Political lobbying (Non-partisan voter registration is an eligible activity)
      – Religious instruction
      – Conducting worship service
      – Proselytizing
      – Volunteer service performed as part of court-ordered community service
      – Serving only family members
      – Unpaid internships

    1. Print the application form and fill it out clearly.
    2. Scan the completed form along with your volunteering log file.
    3. Email all documents to vsa.evhs@gmail.com with the subject line:
      “Student’s Last Name, First Name – Grade (for the award year, not the current year)”.
    4. Submit the application using your school email ID to help process your submission
      faster.
